Hi – i’m Sue, originally from London, lived in Scotland for a few years moved to Australia and ended up in Melbourne where I have been since 1999. I live in a Bayside suburb with hubby, 2 teenage boys and a crazy dog. I love making things (it helps to keep me sane) and meeting others who enjoy the creative life and that was the main reason I started this blog. I currently have a bit of a fabric addiction and enjoy getting together with a few of my patchworking friends aka The Mad COWS where we often work on projects together over the year.
A friend and I have recently started a group that meet once a month called “Pennydale Patchwork and Craft”. We meet in the local church hall where we set the tables up and all are welcome to come along and work on whatever their particular craft might be. There are no instructors but always a sharing of skills and usually quite a bit of laughter too!
I really hope you enjoy your visit and I love reading your comments and hearing about your own craft experiences.
Lovely website you have here! Thanks for the comments on my blog. One day, I hope to be able to make my blog, online stores join the charity wagon – you know, like x% of all sales will go to XXX charity =)
Thank you, appreciate your comments. Well done reaching 5000 – I have a long way to go!!
So glad I found your blog! I can tell you’re a kindred spirit! 🙂
Thank you, I thought the same when I came across your blog and decided to follow you!
‘Mad cows’ love it – may I borrow? ♥
Thank you and please do – we need some mad cows in NZ lol!!
I’m a Frisian! Frisian is to Dutch what Gaelic is to English a different language and it’s where the cows are from…… !
Well I should have guessed!! that’s where my mum is from – Willemshaven(?) to be precise – so much in common!
Thank you for popping over to Farnham via KnitNell blog and saying hello. Lovely to have been able to have a look at your blog – I love the hound – Goober – is that an Australian name? It is always so interesting to see photos from the other side of the world and great to know that arts and crafts are all the same worldwide – bringing people together plus helping charities. I go to a knitting (and crochet) group once a week and have done since Feb 2006 and once a week I meet up with knitting/crochet friends informally just for an excuse for coffee and a chat. Lovely. cheers KnitNell
Lovely to hear from you KnitNell and Goober was named by my (then) 13 year old who was a big fan of Sponge Bob! There was a character called Goofy Goober and that was the only name he would agree to although now we couldn’t imagine him as anything else! It was nice to see your little Molly – I’m sure she gives you much inspiration and encouragement!
Where would we be without our dogs? BTW Molly averaged 47 kilos, although she has lost weight now she is an old lady but she is a big girl. I often have people in the park telling me that I am being followed by a bear! cheers.
Wow, for some reason I thought she was a little dog but 47kg couldn’t really be described as a lap dog lol! She looks like a real sweetie though – hope you share some more pics of her – do you have any sketches of Molly?

Hmm, lots of points in common. Dutch mother. Formerly a Pom, now living in Australia, Melbourne bayside suburb (although I now live in the tropics), quilting and fabric addiction, blog as creative outlet. I should probably be following you…
Well I’m really happy that you are Kate 🙂 and having paid your blog a visit i shall look forward to following your adventures!
One question before I decide whether the similarities are a bit spooky: Eastern or Western bayside suburb?
Eastern! You?
