I saw this pattern in Patchwork and Stitching magazine and really wanted to make it – then I got the news from England that my nephew and his wife were expecting in July 2011 so I had the perfect excuse! This quilt is called Nellie’s Bears and was designed by Narelle Bower. Lucas arrived as planned and although I haven’t met him yet, I understand he’s enjoying his quilt. Hopefully I will get to meet him this October when I go over.

This was made for great neice Emily who arrived on 25th April 2012. I saw this lovely Beatrix Potter print and couldn’t resist. A very simple 4 patch design but still quite effective.

Lantern Quilt – Friendship Group (Mad Cows) 2011

My friend Carrie’s first EVER quilt!! made for a very good friend recovering from cancer. Drunkards Path quilt made with beautiful Kaffe Fassett fabrics.

Japanese ‘Cheeki’ Doll from a pattern by Wendi Dillon, Patchwork by the Sea, SA

I enjoyed making the first one so much – just had to make another!

Another doll – I think from a pattern in Patchwork and Stitching magazine (unfortunately can’t find the details at the moment).

Owl made from my own design. For some reason the fabric just screamed OWL at me when I got it!

After the Owl, of course came, The Pussy Cat – No pea-green boat yet!

Of course it wouldn’t be fair to leave the dogs out, would it?!

  2. Love these critters!! Thanks for coming by the Art Prescription!! I too love fabric…my dream is to have some of my watercolors on fabric. I’ve produced a few myself for pillows.
